How to Specify E-Therm In your project: E-Therm Specification

The insulation shall be E-Therm tm distributed by DMS Industries.

Material shall be closed cell direct extruded (100% recyclable grade) polyethylene foam, having a density of not less than 25kg/m 3 , and shall incorporate metallic film on both sides.

The E-Therm insulation shall have a thickness of not less than 8mm and a surface emittance of 0.06 when tested to ASTM Standard E408-71.

The insulation and reinforced foil tape shall have a early fire hazard test result Index of four zeros (0) when tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1530.3.

All insulation shall be installed as tightly as possible without gaps. The edges and ends shall be tightly butted together. Butt joints shall be taped using a (48mm or 72mm wide) delete as required adhesive backed PVC tape.

Where necessary, the material shall be cut (using a sharp knife or scissors) and butt joined, to ensure a tight fit against adjoining walls and surfaces. Airgaps will be minimised and sealed with reinforced foil tape at all times.

Additional protective measures may be required for areas where the product is subject to mechanical damage.

If supports are encountered when insulation is installed near mechanical and electrical components such as pipe work, cables, ventilation ducting etc, the insulation shall be butted tightly up to these and sealed using reinforced foil tape.

Manufacturer's written instructions and fastening accessories will be used when installing E-Therm insulation.
